Underrun protection for the VW T4 model, all wheelbases, all engines, 2 and 4WD.
The version offers a protective plate made of 2mm stainless steel (without coating).
The tank underrun protection connects to an existing underrun protection from VW (original "engine tray") or SGS as well as identical/similar models and prevents sharp stones etc. from penetrating the tank. In addition, the part of the cardan shaft that runs under the tank is protected.
Emphasis was placed on a balance between weight and stability because it should be easy to dismantle even away from the workshop.
Thanks to the full-surface powder coating (black), it is particularly well protected against corrosion.
The mudguard itself is made of 2 mm steel, equipped with 8 roll beads to avoid vibrations and increase stability. Otherwise it is smooth and almost close to the tank so as not to lose ground clearance unnecessarily.
It has 2 correspondingly large recesses from below in order to adjust/relax the torsion bars using a possibly existing nut.
The 3 holding plates are made of 2mm sheet steel, also powder-coated.
The protective plate is connected to the brackets using stainless screws.
Assembly: In order to assemble the retaining plates, the tank straps must be loosened in some places. To do this you have to support the tank; a hydraulic ram is ideal for this (either a car jack or, if using a lift, a transmission jack).
